Who Loves Eli?

This is a song my brother Rob sang with his kids. We've been working on it for a while!

Close Encounters of the Duck Kind

I've mentioned before that we love to take Eli to feed the ducks. We've tried a few ponds, but the Utah Lake State Park (right where the river meets the lake) really is the best all around. You can get close to the water, the ducks are relatively normal, and there are just tons of them! Just today Eli realized we were throwing the bread and not eating it, which is huge progress! We usually coax a few ducks out of the water and then a few more join but this day the birds were feeling extra hungry (or aggressive) and mommy was on coaxing duties. The white ones are especially fun to feed - they jump for the bread and have a real "take no prisoners" approach to the whole event. It was especially "fun" when the geese joined the party. Yikes! Such fun and yet such craziness!

Out For a Drive

Sometimes we just need to get out. So one nice July day we decided to go for a drive during Eli's nap which meant we all could enjoy it while he napped. We ended up at the Manti Temple just as Bubba woke up which was perfect timing for our legs and his diaper. We walked around the grounds and saw more than I've ever seen before including the east side of the temple which you have to climb a hill to get to. It was so much fun! Definitely a successful outing!

He had to carry around this rock he found for most of our walk. Finally we convinced him to toss it. I don't know which is worse: stealing from the temple grounds or chucking rocks there.

Balloon Festival

Sandy city "Glow Fest". The balloons fill up but don't launch - really cool to see the balloons. Eli liked those but he loved the bluegrass band playing! Such a music boy.
So much fun to be there with the Packs, Parks, and Zehnters!!

Pineview 2012

The Isoms have a tradition of camping with Becky's family that goes back to when Kelly was a kid. For the last 9 years or so that trip has been to Pineview Reservoir over the 4th if July. This was our first camping trip with Eli and it turned out to be a lot of fun (and much less stressful than I anticipated).
We all arrived on the afternoon of the 4th and jumped right into the fun.

It's Raining! It's Pouring!

Our first big summer rain. The puddles weren't quite big enough for splashing, but Eli tried it out anyway. I love summer rain!
