Bree and Joe's Wedding

What a beautiful day! Bree and Joe were married yesterday at the Salt Lake Temple and we were able to spend the day with them and all the family. Thanks to Becky we only had to make the trek from West Valley and were at the temple on time!! Wahoo! Then, thanks to Stephanie Osborne, Eli was able to enjoy the temple too! He really had a great time with the cousins.

After the sealing, it was off to Bountiful for a yummy Chinese lunch and a beautiful reception. It was so hot and muggy, but the car air conditioning was great and saved us! We are just so grateful for our family and grateful we could be a part of Bree and Joe's day!

I Love to See the Temple

Today we had the opportunity to go to the Brigham City Temple open house with the Young Men from our ward. It was so amazingly beautiful! I especially loved the peach blossoms on the ceiling in the sealing room and the stained glass in all the doorways. It was a really great day - including the stop at Chuck-a-Rama on the way home. 😊

Visiting the Set

Today we went with Heather and Kathy to visit the set of Rick's most current film project "Highway to Dhampus". They were filming part of the plane crash scene and had an actual plane "crashed" on the side of a hill in Eagle Mountain. As Kelly put it, Rick really does have an amazing talent to not only visualize all of this but to manage the creation of his vision. We are so proud of his hard work. And since this was the most local of all his shoots (Nepal and London are a but out of our range) we were so excited to go out there and get a look at it all. We even got a sneak peek at a few shots! Very cool! Kelly and I list the crashed plane and special effects blood as our favorite parts. Eli? He loved the rocks and dirt on the path.

Catching Bugs

There is very little worse than having to hold a sick baby and knowing that you can't do anything about it. Poor little Eli has caught his first flu bug. It struck with force last night just as we were getting him ready for bed and let me tell you, the tummy pyrotechnics were impressive! But the worst of it was his look afterwards - he looked up at me with those big beautiful eyes and seemed to be asking "why did you just let that happen to me, Mom?" OH! So hard! Needless to say we had a rough night, but he woke up this morning smiling and ready to play. I think we made it through the first really nasty "bug"! Unfortunately, I know there are more to come! Why can't I keep him safe from all the big and little troubles of the world? Wishful thinking...
