Home Depot with Daddy

We had to stop by Home Depot today for a quick errand, which meant we spent way more time there than needed. But Eli and Kelly had some fun so what can you do?

Great Scot!

We had the chance to go to the Scottish Festival at Thanksgiving Point with Anne, Brandon, and Ethan. What fun! We watched dancers, laughed at the dressed up crazies (any excuse to wear your medieval garb), cheered the caber tossers and rock throwers, drank homemade rootbeer (Scottish?), and listened to lots of bagpipes! Eli really liked those. I'm grateful I get a chance to share my McFarland heritage with my family and friends. (oh, and I did yell "loch sloy" during the clan presentations.)

A bagpipe group was marching through the fair gathering everyone to the main field for the presentation of the clans. Wow! So loud!

Happy Father's Day

What an amazing Daddy little Eli has! I am so grateful for the man Kelly is and the man he is helping Eli grow up to be!

Kelly's family had a big party for Grandpa O and all the other dads. What a great time! Kelly and Eli even braved the pool full of wild kids for a little splash time.

Family

Summer has already been a great time for us to spend more time with our family.  I'm so grateful for all the people in our lives that love us and love our little man.  While I was pregnant with Eli, my prayers always included the plea that whatever else happens in life, please let Eli be surrounded by love and know that he is loved.  I am so grateful for all of you that help answer that prayer.  We love you all!!

Driving Lessons

I have great memories of driving around the neighborhood sitting on my dad's lap.  I'm glad Eli will have those memories too!  Don't worry.  This is an empty parking lot at Hardware Ranch (far up Hyrum Canyon) so chance for accidents!

Such a Pretty Pony!

Eli has a stick horse that he loves to ride around with daddy, but he still hadn't met a real horse until we went to Aunt Marilyn's over Memorial Day weekend for our annual trip with Grandpa!  It was Eli's first trip to Paradise (Utah - by Logan) and he loved the fields and animals.    It rained most of the weekend, so when the weather would break we'd run outside and go on a walk to see the animals.  Eli was interested in the cows and dogs, although the horses were the highlight of the trip.  At first Eli was too sure about the big brutes - and the feeling seemed to be mutual - but then they began to ease into each other.  No biting from the horses, no crying from Eli.  Good times for all!  I especially loved that Eli wanted to touch them with his feet, not his hands.  So cute!
